A Message to Parents
and Prospective Students

We are pleased to learn of your interest in Stevenson University, Maryland’s third largest independent university. We are located just minutes from the city of Baltimore in a beautiful suburban setting with two campuses just 15-minutes apart and connected by the University’s shuttle service. Over the past several years, Stevenson has grown in size and recognition as a national leader in career-focused university education. The 2012 U.S. News & World Report college rankings recognized Stevenson as one of just 46 “Up-and-Comer” colleges and universities nationally and No. 2 among the "Up-and-Coming" Regional Universities-North.

Our University’s tagline, Imagine Your Future. Design Your Career®, is appropriate to our mission. Stevenson offers an integration of the liberal arts, sciences, and technology with a distinctive career focus. Our educational focus on theory, practice, and mentoring helps students gain the discipline knowledge of their chosen degree path while discovering practical, real-world applications for it through outside-the-classroom experiences—whether they be service learning projects, study abroad, internships, or leadership experiences—with mentors who are true practitioners in these fields. Career-planning is integrated into the overall educational experiences as well. Through a process we call Career ArchitectureSM, our dedicated faculty and staff work with students from the beginning of their freshman year to help them develop values-based decision-making and career management skills for their lifetime.

The rapid and lively transformation of Stevenson over the past several years has led to two vibrant campuses just a few miles apart. The thriving Greenspring Campus offers science facilities for undergraduate research, a nursing simulation skills lab, and outstanding facilities for our other majors, including a fully-equipped theatre and art gallery.

Our newest campus in Owings Mills hosts our Brown School of Business and Leadership, a premier student residential housing complex, a sports and wellness center, and a dining and student life facility. We recently added a new gymnasium and a new 3,500-seat stadium to host our new football team as well as men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse. In addition, Stevenson University recently purchased the 28-acre Shire site adjacent to our Owings Mills campus and will add 168,000 square feet of buildings and a 400-space parking lot to the campus. The site is being renovated to house our growing School of the Sciences and School of Design, which will move to Owings Mills by fall 2013.

In addition to our traditional undergraduate programs, our graduate and accelerated programs continue to expand to meet the needs of nontraditional and working adult students.

All of these developments are designed to enhance our student-centered experience, to help you achieve success in higher education, and to put you on a path to reach your future goals.

Please take a few minutes to browse our website for yourself and learn more about the many facets and value of a Stevenson University education. We offer an online application for admission and welcome any questions you may have to support your college decision process.
