    • Q:   Can I earn SU credit through my work and life experience?
    • A:   Adults returning to college can earn credit for their knowledge, skills and abilities that are equivalent to learning acquired through a college course. Credit for prior learning will be assessed through a portfolio presentation. To qualify for the program students must: complete one course with a ‘C’ or better at SU, enroll in a SU degree program, complete ENG 151 or its equivalent transfer course with a ‘C’ or better, meet with the Credit for Prior Learning Coordinator and submit documentation of at least three years of full-time or five-years part time professional or community experiences, be in good academic standing at SU and seek approval of department chair for specific courses for which to petition the credit.

      Credit for Prior Learning students must register for PLA 101 and select the course to be petitioned for credit. Up to 30 credits can be earned though the Credit for Prior Learning program.
